Pinus radiata / Aboveground biomass
Radiata pine total AGB, log model Eq. 8 (ln(D^2 H))
© Forest and Kim Starr · CC BY · iNaturalistAs printed (Section 2.2, Eq. 8)
In this library's units, ready to compute (kg)
Aboveground biomass = exp(-2.4150 + 0.8186 * ln(D^2 * H)) * 1.141319D- Diameter at breast height (1.3 m), cm
H- Total tree height, m
D in cm, H in m, AGB in kg, natural log (the paper defines ln as natural). Back-transformed with the modified smearing estimate exp(Xb) cf1 cf2 (Eq. 11); cf1 and cf2 are as printed in Table III and applied as their product. Fit ranges are the pooled data (Table I overall; the text says height from 1.47 m while Table I says 0.32 m, so no h_min given). rse is the RMSE column for the log models. In Eq. 9 the text labels the quadratic coefficient β3 but Table II lists it in the third parameter column.

Shaded: the DBH range the model was fitted on. Other inputs held at the values above.
On every build, the library's form and the paper's own form (in its units) must both give these values within 1%.
