Tectona grandis / Aboveground biomass

Teak aboveground biomass, all sampled stands (DBAP)

Aboveground biomassTectona grandisBrazilplantationRead from the original paperPeer-reviewed sourceNot fully checked

Not fully checked: The all-stands curve in Figure 2(a) conflicts with its printed equation and Table 2: at DBH 20 cm, Table 2 predicts 90.94 kg, while the plotted curve is below 45 kg. This record uses Table 2; confirm the discrepancy with the authors before using it.

Equation

As printed (Table 2, model in caption; DBAP row, All stands columns β₀ and β₁, p. 5)

LnY = β₀ + β₁ Lndbh + ε; β₀ = −2.8665, β₁ = 2.4624

In this library's units, ready to compute (kg)

Aboveground biomass = exp(-2.8665 + 2.4624 * ln(D))
D
Diameter at breast height (1.3 m), cm

DBH is measured at 1.3 m. The log-linear model is back-transformed using Table 2's printed coefficients; the paper gives no correction factor, so none is applied. Figure 2 prints the rounded power form 0.0569 * DBH^2.4624. The authors recommend the all-stands fit.

On every build, the library's form and the paper's own form (in its units) must both give these values within 1%.
