Equation

As printed (Section 2.3, Eq. 1)

M = aD^b

In this library's units, ready to compute (kg)

Aboveground biomass = 0.7735 * D^1.6736
D
Diameter at breast height (1.3 m), cm

M = aD^b. Power model M = aD^b (or a(D²H)^b) fitted by non-linear least squares (no log back-transform). Sample trees were 60 destructively harvested trees from stands aged 8, 18, 32 and 46 years; the paper does not give the DBH or height range of the sample trees (Table 1 gives stand means only), so none is given. Roots are coarse roots (>5 mm), so the root and total-tree equations leave out fine roots. The third form in Table 3, M = aD^b A^c, needs stand age (not a canonical variable) and is not added. Aboveground biomass was calculated as the sum of stem, branch and foliage biomass.
