Equation

As printed (Table IV, model in caption and MT row, p. 443)

MT = aDᵇ; a = 0.9402, b = 1.9643

In this library's units, ready to compute (kg)

Aboveground biomass = 0.9402 * D^1.9643
D
Diameter at breast height (1.3 m), cm

D is DBH at 1.3 m. This original-scale nonlinear fit needs no log back-transformation correction. The authors report better SSE for nonlinear models, but lower MPD for the log models of total, stem and branch mass. The retained 5.19–40.6 cm range is explicitly reported in the methods (p. 441); the later comparison describes a largest Greek tree of 41.45 cm (p. 446). That sample-description discrepancy is not used to extend the reported range.
