Equations / Stem biomass
Fagus generalised stem biomass, DBH (Table V)
Not fully checked: The methods describe log-transformed generalized fits, but Table V gives neither SEE nor a correction factor for this component and does not establish whether its coefficient includes back-transform correction. This record uses the printed power function; verify correction handling before treating its output as mean stem dry mass.
As printed (Equation (1), model, p. 441; Table V, Stem row, p. 446)
In this library's units, ready to compute (kg)
Stem biomass = 0.1321 * D^2.3594D- Diameter at breast height (1.3 m), cm
D is DBH in cm; output is kg dry biomass. This is an original generalized fit to predictions from published equations, not a fit to independent harvested-tree observations. No additional correction can be calculated without SEE or CF. The 1–66 cm bounds are the domain explicitly reported in Table V, not extrema inferred from synthetic class means. The species used specifically for this component fit are not enumerated. Figure 4 describes validation refits excluding the Spanish and Greek equations; it does not print coefficients for those refits, so its plotted predictions are not substituted for Table V.

Shaded: the DBH range the model was fitted on. Other inputs held at the values above.
On every build, the library's form and the paper's own form (in its units) must both give these values within 1%.
